Terms of Service

Effective date: October 6, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Decodx ("Decodx", "we", "us", or "our"): the website (decodx.ai), the web application (app.decodx.ai), the API, the command-line tools, the MCP server and the decodx plugins for AI assistants, and the decodx Capture Chrome extension (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you may do so.

2. Accounts and organizations

  • You need an account to use the Service. Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Accounts belong to an organization. Its admins can invite members, set roles, connect integrations and manage the plan; work created in the organization is shared with its members according to their roles.
  • API keys and AI-assistant connections act as the person who created them. Keep them secret and revoke them in the app when you no longer need them.

3. Plans, AI minutes and payment

The plans and what each includes are on the pricing page.

  • AI minutes. Generating video, voice, avatars and other AI output uses AI minutes. Each plan includes a number of AI minutes per month, pooled across the organization. One avatar (talking-head) minute counts as several AI minutes, as the pricing page shows. Re-rendering a video from cached output does not use AI minutes. When an organization reaches its limit, new AI work waits until the next period or a plan change.
  • Free plan. Videos rendered on the Free plan carry the decodx watermark and have the limits shown on the pricing page.
  • Paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you subscribe or as agreed with us in writing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices may change; we will tell you before a change applies to your plan.

4. Your content

"Your content" is what you put into the Service — specs, scripts, uploads, recordings, websites you ask us to read, brand material — and the videos and documents produced from it. You keep all rights you have in your content.

You give us permission to host, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you: for example, to read your website, send narration to a voice provider, render your video, and show it on a share link you create.

You confirm you have the rights to the content you provide, including the people, voices, music, logos and websites in it, and that using it with the Service does not break any law or anyone else's rights.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
  • impersonate a real person or organization, or make deceptive content presented as real (including a voice or avatar of someone without their consent);
  • create or share content that is sexual involving minors, harassing, hateful, violent extremist, or that promotes self-harm;
  • send spam or malware, or phish;
  • attack, overload, probe or get around the Service's security, rate limits, plan limits or billing — including through automated access beyond what the API and plan allow;
  • resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product, without our permission.

We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.

6. AI-generated output

  • The Service uses AI to read websites, draft scripts and scenes, generate voices, avatars and images, and transcribe audio. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or similar to output made for others. Review every video before you publish it; you are responsible for what you publish.
  • Subject to these Terms and to the rights of others in your input, the output produced for you is yours to use, including commercially.
  • Do not present AI-generated voices or avatars as a real person's own speech without their consent, and follow the disclosure rules that apply where you publish.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), AI model and search providers, ElevenLabs (voice) and HeyGen (avatars). The Privacy Policy lists them and what they receive.

When you connect your own account with a third party — for example YouTube, X, LinkedIn, or your own provider keys — your use of that service is also governed by its terms, and you are responsible for complying with them. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Our rights

We own the Service, including its software, design and documentation; these Terms do not give you rights in it beyond using it as described here. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

9. Cancelling and ending the Service

  • You can stop using the Service at any time. To cancel a paid plan, change it in Settings › Billing or write to us; it stays active until the end of the period already paid for. To delete your account, write to us.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must by law, or if continuing would put the Service or other users at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
  • After your account ends, we delete your content within a reasonable time, as the Privacy Policy describes. Download anything you want to keep before then.

10. Disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and correct, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that its output will meet your needs.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Decodx is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose and one hundred US dollars (US$100).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and compensate Decodx against claims by others arising from your content or from your breach of these Terms, including reasonable legal costs.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and revise the "Effective date" above, and tell you by email or in the product before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
